When working for Clients, we will be presented with an initial brief, we then work together to ensure that their requirements are attainable and within budget.
Our initial feasibility study is prepared to assist our client to gain a greater understanding of the opportunities presented by the project; we also at this stage provide a rough budget for the works.
We have also after discussing a Clients requirements, actively sourced a plot of land with outline planning permission, which our client subsequently purchased in their preferred location – we then redesigned from traditional to a fully certifiable Passivhaus standard.
Our client will prepare a brief which identifies their key requirements, constraints and also a probable wish list. Within our team we have quantity surveyors, mechanical and electrical engineers, Passivhaus designers, cold bridging and thermal specialist, there is usually no need to employ outside consultants for these works.
We work with our clients and designers to produce a design, which all parties are happy with; we also at this stage update the budget.
At this stage we also start to talk to relevant authorities and introduce ourselves to the neighbors, we listen to their points of view and where possible seek to integrate their requests. This has also proved most useful when submitting planning applications.
We further develop the initial design, obtain tree surveys, etc. and the full planning
application is prepared and submitted. We are at this stage also discussing with specialist suppliers and sub-contractors the plans, specifications and programmes.
Final Proposals and Building Control
We further develop the scheme and designs, ensuring full compliance with Building Control for approval under the statutory Building Regulations.
